17 Gauge Aluminum Wire is ideal for electric fence. It is more conductive than steel wire, and it will not rust.

This lightweight wire is easy to repair and retighten.

Aluminum has a low breaking strength and therefore is stretched at lower tension than steel high-tensile wire. However, this product does use the same hardware required for steel high-tensile wire. Aluminum and High Tensile Steel wire are two permanent fence options for electric fence wire. Both materials are suitable for building perimeter fences to keep slow animals in check since they are sturdy, long-lasting, and minimal maintenance. Hi-tensile is the more economical option of the two, Aluminum has superior conductivity that is four times more than that of galvanized steel but is at a higher price point than steel wire. Over long term Aluminum wire will not rust.
